There are two ways that you can prep your skin. Prep your whole face by cleansing, moisturising and the weekly scrub.
BUT, there is an express prep you can do when you've had makeup on all day and you just need to freshen up. You don't need to start the whole works again. All you need to do is simply just freshen up your eyes. Not only will you be able to apply makeup faster, but your eye makeup will be vibrant AND last longer!

Now, it's very important to know that you can't successfully put on eye shadow on oily lids. It is very important to remove all the oil before beginning your makeup. This will make your eye shadow last for 6 to 8 hours longer than if you had oily lids.
HOWEVER, if you want to start from scratch here is how:
1) Cleanse
If you are nowhere near running water, use a non-alcoholic, non-perfumed baby wipe on your face and eyelids- this will remove all the oil.
2) Prime/ moisturise
Makeup primer and moisturiser are essentially the same, except the primer has more silicon, great for levelling out uneven skin texture. Now, my tip is not to use moisturiser AND primer- you will look super patchy!
Here is a tip from Rae Morris
It's important to ensure that your foundation, concealer, primer, sunscreen and moisturiser are all either oil-based or water-based. If you mix them, they will separate!3) Apply foundation and concealer
Don't moisturise your eyelids. Instead, put a light amount of foundation on your eyelids and/ or concealer under your eyes.
There will be a lot more posts coming soon about foundation! Stay tuned.
Nice effort with your blog, it is horrible having oily skin so it's nice to learn about how I can change that!
ReplyDeleteI have oily skin too! I'm currently using the La Roche skin care products and they are definitely helping quite a lot! :)
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Definitely believe that which you stated. A good body lotion is an essential part of a good skincare regime. So i regularly use sakare's body lotions.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! A good body lotion is vital for maintaining healthy skin! How long have you used this skincare for?
